How to replace a VFD from the nameplate
A “7.5 kW inverter” is not a part number. The spare is the full catalog string: series, voltage class, current, enclosure, and firmware family. Photograph the nameplate on the drive, not the motor.

Copy the complete catalog number
ABB ACS, Siemens Sinamics / Micromaster, Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Yaskawa V1000 / A1000, Schneider ATV. Include dashes, enclosure, and option codes. A missing letter often means a different I/O board.

Record voltage, kW / HP, and output current
200 V vs 400 V vs 575 V is not interchangeable. Match output current, not only kW — two “15 kW” frames can differ in overload.

Photograph options and the keypad
Encoder option, fieldbus (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus), brake chopper, and EMC filter change the exact SKU. A photo of the keypad menu showing the firmware helps when the series has successors.

Say whether you need exact or successor
Some plants must keep the same parameter set and I/O layout. Others can take the OEM successor if we map options. Tell us which, with quantity.
Exact drive vs capacitor repair
If the fault is DC-bus capacitors and the power section is otherwise healthy, we can quote matching µF / voltage capacitor sets. If the control board or IGBT stack is gone, quote the complete drive from the nameplate.
Do not mix capacitor banks across voltage classes. Send the capacitor can markings as well as the drive plate.
