How to match a Yaskawa Sigma servomotor
Yaskawa Sigma motors look similar across generations. The spare is the full SGM string plus the encoder / serial feedback type. Photograph the motor plate and the encoder cap. We quote that pair from U.S. channels — motor, encoder, or both.

Copy the full SGM / SGMAH / SGMGV / SGM7J string
Include wattage, voltage, brake (B), oil seal, and shaft codes. A missing “B” quotes a motor without brake. Sigma-II, Sigma-5, and Sigma-7 are not drop-in across servopacks.

Photograph the encoder or serial unit
Many Sigma motors use Tamagawa or Yaskawa UTSIH / UTTAH / UTOPH feedback. If the encoder is sold separately, we quote it first — cheaper and faster than a complete motor.

Note the servopack
SGDH, SGDV, SGD7S (and similar) must match the motor generation and encoder protocol. Send the drive plate with the motor plate.

Say if the machine can take a successor
Some Sigma-II motors are gone as new; a Sigma-5 / Sigma-7 swap needs a matching servopack. We will not quote a generation jump unless you ask for it.
Encoder spare vs complete motor
If the windings and bearings are healthy and the encoder cap is a known spare, we quote the encoder. If the encoder is potted or the bearing has failed, we quote the motor with the same feedback.
What to send so the quote is right the first time
Two plates, connector photo, brake yes/no, quantity, and whether the servopack stays. That is enough for us to search U.S. OEM and surplus.
