How to read a Tamagawa TS52 encoder
Tamagawa units sit inside a lot of Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, and generic servo motors. The spare is the full TS52xx (encoder) or TS26xx (resolver) string — PPR, bore, and output — not “a Tamagawa encoder.” Photograph the cap and the motor plate.

Copy the full TS number
TS5214N123, TS5246, OIH, and similar. The trailing groups encode PPR, output, and sometimes the mechanical variant. A partial number quotes the wrong pulse count.

Measure or photograph the hollow bore
Many TS52 units are hollow-shaft. A correct electrical encoder with a 1 mm smaller bore will not go on the motor shaft.

Confirm encoder vs resolver
TS52xx is typically incremental optical. TS2620 / TS2640 is a resolver. They are not substitutes.

Send the motor OEM plate
If the motor is Yaskawa or Mitsubishi, we check whether the encoder is sold as a spare or only with the motor, then quote U.S. stock accordingly.
PPR is not the whole spec
1024 PPR Tamagawa is not 1024 PPR Heidenhain and not a Fanuc pulsecoder. Output (line driver, open collector, serial) and connector have to match the drive that is already on the machine.
When we quote the motor instead
If the encoder is not listed as a spare for that motor, or the bearing has failed, we quote the complete motor with the same feedback. We say which path we are quoting before you buy.
